Anna's Story

I feel fortunate to have been led to four holistic, powerful healing modalities: Craniosacral Therapy, Lymph Drainage Therapy, Reflexology and Somatic Groundwork.

I excelled in high school and the first 2 years of university, but, at that time, I had no inkling of a career choice.  My 20’s and 30’s were spent raising a family of three, and supporting my husband’s business as his office administrator. Then came the mid-life crisis of the 40’s when I felt the stirring of unfulfillment and dis-use of my talents.  Two major self-development projects started in that decade – partnering with a wellness company to educate consumers on healthier choices, and participating in Toastmasters’ leadership and public speaking programs. I considered returning to university to finish my Health Sciences degree several times.  However, when I took my first craniosacral therapy training in 2016, I realized that I was being given tools to help people in ways that traditional health sciences are not able to.  I soon added foot reflexology to my practice and have found it a powerful adjunct to the craniosacral tools.  More recently,  I’ve added Lymph Drainage Therapy to my toolbox.  It is a perfect complement to craniosacral work and provides another approach to help the body to reorganize, soften and become more efficient. Lymph drainage also complements the important work of helping clients let go of past traumas and trapped emotions.

I have been learning Somatic Groundwork for over six years with its creator, Kaila June Keliikuli, at Somakinese School. I have completed her Interdisciplinary Movement Studies program, which is pending ISMETA membership approval. I am pleased to be able to empower clients with Posture & Movement Therapy as a self-help tool to continue their transformation between sessions. I am also a Fitness Instructor for Seniors and I teach 4 classes per week at the Gloucester 50+ Centre in Ottawa. I am passionate about healthy posture and spinal health and the movement therapy work that I do combines every aspect of my skills. I have personally benefitted from each of the therapies that I offer and I feel blessed to share them with those around me.

What Anna Treats

Conditions that are commonly helped by Craniosacral Therapy, Lymph Drainage Therapy and Reflexology are listed under the drop down headings: Neurological, Musculoskeletal and Mind and Spirit.

However, it is important to note that we do not treat specific conditions. Our paradigm in each of these 3 modalities is that we treat the whole body. My role as a therapist, is to facilitate better fluid and energy flow by releasing restrictions. This assists the body in its work of maintaining homeostatis which then results in healing or improved health.

Anna has successfully helped clients with a wide range of conditions, both in person and remotely, including:

Concussions
Stress & Tension Related Problems
Chronic pain
Headaches
Vertigo
Anxiety and depression
Pinched nerve syndromes (sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc)
PTSD, releasing emotions stored in the tissues
